The Hurdles!

1, 2 then 3 Blessings from God

Adjusting to three young kids is more challenging then I remember when we went from one to two. It is so precious though.

Kirsten- As most know she was convinced from the start that we were going to have a baby girl and she would get her baby sister. She loves to hold her. She has even developed a little routine. She holds her throughout the day; once before she gets on the preschool bus, when she gets home from preschool and one more time before bed. She always makes sure to tell her goodbye or good night. it is so wonderful she tells Kinsley about all the fun girl stuff she will be able to do when she is older, we will get to go shopping, paint our nails together, play dress up together and there is much much more… She Loves loves to pick out her clothes, helps with getting me things and tries to comfort Kinsley when crying. Kirsten has gottten more use to baby Kinsley crying. The first couple weeks home she was almost upset with mom and dad that it took time to calm baby down and to stop crying.

Chayson- he loves his baby sister. it took awhile for him to adjust to even having her in the house. he will ask to hold her and if he wants to touch her he asks “can I pet ┬áher”. he calls her pacifier her bottle and brings it to her anytime he finds it around the house.

Us- we are tired, super blessed and our days are over flowing with our great life.

Kinsley Stella Mae

while awaiting baby arrival I had almost 3 full days, before the event started. Fully enjoying being home with the kids and not rushing out the door to daycare and work.

It was a quarter after seven in the evening. I was in Chayson’s room with Kirsten sorting to toys in the toy box. (looking for Mr. Potato Head pieces). My water broke. “MOM! Why are you peeing all over the floor!” Kirsten said. “I’m not peeing mama’s water broke, that means the baby is going to come” “water, why?” “because when babies grow inside of mommies they live in water. Kirsten I need you to get pants on, your coat and shoes to be ready to go”

With in a few minutes of me changing myself, getting Chayson ready and my husband getting ready. The next time I seen our grown up girl, Kirsten, she was indeed ready to go out the door.

Everything went incredibly smooth. A huge thanks to Jonesie and Kassie for taking the kids while we made our trip to the hospital and G’ma Mary for coming up to watch them at our house.

We had chose not to find out if we were having a boy or girl this time. I had thought we were having another boy. Big sister Kirsten we against the idea. She had hoped, wished and prayed for a baby sister. Big brother Chayson knew there was a baby inside of mama. Kirsten got what she hoped for.

Doing it this way. I would do it again in a heartbeat. The staff was awesome, no one said what she was and let me see first. Our doctor was excellent many thanks to Dr. Baabs. Once again the nurses for all your care and compassion.

Kinsley Stella Mae arrived January 24th, 2015 at 1:41pm weighing 7# 4oz 18 inches long.

New Year’s Day 2015

We made a trip down to Hill City to see Bumpa Larry and Grandma Shari. We had lunch with them and just enjoyed being with them and catching up. Also, Laramie and his family came out to their house. It was great to see him and Shelby with their four kids. Everyone grows so fast. The cousins were a bit disappointed that Kirsten wasn’t with us. She went with her Papa Doug and G’ma Mary to Montana that week. We also got to see cousin Alanaha, she showed Chayson the kitties, chickens and the goat after lunch.

Christmas 2014

We enjoyed time with all family around Christmas. Again we stayed close to home it is a crazy busy time in our work world this time of year. Not busy enough to forget the Reason for this Season.

Catlin was apart of the church Christmas choir. Kirsten was in her first program. I have been taking it a bit easy, being 8months pregnant.

Thanksgiving 2014

We celebrated many Thanksgivings this year. Much to be Thankful for!

The week before we had a great meal and family time with Catlin’s Family at his mother’s home. Everyone chipped in making the work and time it takes to prepare a large meal easier.

On Thanksgiving Day we stayed home. Enjoying a day off in the middle of the week. Since Catlin and I work Monday thru Saturday on most weeks. Papa Doug and G’ma Mary made the trip from Rapid City to spend the day with us. Bringing most of the fixings for the meal as well. It was much appreciated.

It was a beautiful day, so G’ma Mary and Kayla took the kids sledding and the guys napped while catching some football.

Our third and final Thanksgiving was the Saturday following the holiday. We hosted the dinner at our home for our Young Adults Bible Study Group. Again everyone brought the sides and fixings. It was great, plus everyone pitched in to help with the dishes and cleanup. A great group of Friends.

Like I said we have so so much to be Thankful for.
